Pentingnya Kimia

       

     Hampir tidak ada anak laki-laki maupun perempuan hidup yang tidak sangat tertarik dalam mencari tahu tentang sesuatu hal. dan itulah apaitu kimia "mencari tahu tentang suatu hal " mencari tahu  hal-hal apa yang terbuat dari dan perubahan apa mereka alami.

hal-hal apa? hal-hal apapun? setiap hal !

    lihatlah sekeliling kamu. banyak hal yang dapat kamu lihat dan sedikit hal yang kamu tidak dapat lihat, harus dilakukan dengan ilmu kimia. Mari mulai dengan diri kamu. Udara yang kamu hirup adalah campuran dari substansi kimia dan proses bernafas adalah reaksi kimia. Makanan yang kamu makan semua adalah produk kimia dan cara-cara di mana tubuh kamu mengubah mereka menjadi otot dan tulang dan saraf dan sel-sel otak adalah beberapa yang terbesar dari semua misteri kimia.

    Baju yang kamu pakai, buku yang kamu baca, obat yang kamu gunakan, rumah yang mana kamu tinggal, semua adalah produk kimia. begitu juga mobil keluarga, didalamnya terdapat logam, karet yang menggelinding dan gas yang bergerak.

     Alam itu sendiri adalah laboratorium kimia yang luar biasa. segala sesuatu di alam selamanya mengalami berubahan kimia, dibumi tanam dan hewan tumbuh, mati dan membusuk.batu yang retak dan runtuh dibawah pengaruh udara dan air. Di alam semesta bintang baru terbentuk dan yang lain memudar. Matahari memberikan kita panas, cahaya, dan energi sebagaimana furnace yang menyala dalam proses kimia yang akhirnya membakar dirinya sendiri, milyaran tahun dari sekarang.
   Kimia adalah salah satu yang terpenting dari semua ilmu pengetahuan bagi kesejahteraan manusia. KImia menunjukkan perbedaan diantara kemiskinan, kelaparan, dan kehidupan berlimpah. Penggunaan kimia secara tepat memungkinkan bagi petani untuk memberi makan dengan semakin meningkatnya populasi dunia, bagi insinyur untuk mengembangkan cara-cara baru untuk transportasi dan komunikasi yang akan membawa masyarakat dunia lebih dekat, bagi dokter untuk menyembuhkan penyakit umat manusia, bagi produsen untuk memproduksi ribuan item yang di perlukan untuk hidup lebih baik dan lebih kaya.
